For some reason I feel like I'm not suppose to post this but I was never told not to. So here's a page from The Seekers.

Honestly, not crazy about this. If I had time to go back I would change it up a bit. I had another idea for that orb that would have been cooler. I won't tell you about it though cuz then you'll think it sux too hahaha.

love the stylization of elements. this page is ALMOST abstract if it weren't for our understanding of the comics language.

Thanks man. I can see it being almost abstract. I HATE babying people, so I like to draw pages as if they speak the language. I hope pieces come together as they read through rather than spoon feeding them every little thing... although it probably just comes across as bad story telling haha

no, not at all reading the rest of it i can see what you mean about letting the pieces come together. See, I see you work as kind of a meta-style, that bases itself on the preconception that readers have already acquired the language of comics in order to read your work. you simplify the iconography to an extent that i don't see very often and i think its really cool that you're pushing it. : )

Thanks man. Well I don't want it to sound like I think I'm making an elitist book either. The reality is all I can do is write/draw within my own language or understanding. I do think less is more. But I am no master by any means. I've only been doing it a year and a half or so. Maybe two years. I have a long way to go in all aspects of art and storytelling.

Anyway, Thanks a lot man. I really appreciate it.

When you do the stars, do you use process white, or do you just ink around them? I can imagine the second method being far more difficult and frustrating.

I just use white acrylic but it's this real shitty craft quality walmart acrylic so it's thinner than your typical acrylic. But when it comes to adding white on top of inks it's perfect. I had some other "white" ink stuff or whatever but thought it was too thick.

Hmm, not a bad idea. Thanks!

A weird detail that can annoy me sometimes, when I read a comic, is the lettering / kerning, but I LOVE yours. The "boom" one is flawless.

Thanks so much. I hate hate hate the digital lettering and SFX. When I first started drawing comics I did the bubbles, letters, and sfx in illustrator and it just looked out of place and I feel it does in main stream comics too. PLus the originals look cool if you do it right on the page!!!! Thanks so much! -A
